Spearheaded by the National Safety Council (NSC), National Safety Month is observed each June. This year’s event theme is Safe for Life. According to NSC, “Safety is no accident. It’s a choice we need to make throughout our entire lives. Whether it’s driving without passengers as a newly licensed teen, finding alternatives to prescription painkillers in middle-age or fall-proofing the bathroom as an older adult, we’re all empowered to make safe decisions for ourselves and those we care about.” Topics covered this year include:

Workplaces are encouraged to get involved in National Safety Month. It serves as a reminder of why we practice safe behavior each and every day both in the workplace and at home. For employees, the message of National Safety Month helps to make the connection between safe work practices on the job and quality of life off the job.
